Climate change is a global problem that needs to be addressed locally.
The University is one of the leading universities in Ukraine that directly deals with the counteraction to climate change by implementing eco-initiatives at various levels.
The University's implementation of mitigation measures is aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, such as switching to renewable energy sources, such as solar, and reducing the volume of fossil fuels burned, and adaptation measures are aimed at managing the risks of the effects of climate change, for example, creating sustainable infrastructure.
During its activities on the development and maintenance of the material and technical base, the University places special emphasis on assessing the economic costs of greenhouse gas emissions and the context of climate vulnerability.
The main projects of the University on environmental and social issues management are the project "Effective energy management - the first step to the Green University" and the project "Higher Education of Ukraine" within the framework of which the University's Environmental and Social Affairs Management Plan (PUESP) was developed.
